When you meet me today, you see a strong, driven, and passionate Black woman—an attorney, speaker, and mentor, confident in her abilities and eager to help others. But if you strip away the fancy titles and degrees, you'll find a different story. A story that could have taken a very different turn.
Tragedy struck early in my life with the loss of my father to gun violence, just six months after my birth. Despite these challenges, I was blessed with a determined mother who refused to let circumstances dictate our destiny. She ensured that I had everything I needed to be successful, instilling in me the belief that my future was not defined by my past.
But my path to success wasn't without its challenges. When I was in third grade, my mother moved my brother and me from the inner city of Reading, PA, to the suburbs. It was there that I was introduced to racism. Thankfully, I discovered the power of my voice and learned to navigate spaces where I often felt unseen and unheard. That discovery would go on to shape my life’s purpose.
High school and college became transformative phases in my life. I was always eager to learn something new and utilized my natural gifts in leadership and advocacy to create opportunities for myself that would have otherwise been out of reach. From becoming the drum major of my high school marching band to serving as captain of my college's cross country and track teams, I was led to leadership.
When I made the decision to pursue law and attend law school, I thought I had everything figured out. But my confidence took a blow when my LSAT scores were lower than anticipated. I felt like a failure! I didn’t believe I was valuable or worthy. I questioned whether I was good enough to be a lawyer.
But, I persevered. And I couldn't shake the feeling that I wasn't the only one facing these struggles. In 2017, God gave me the vision for Black Esquire LLC, and I realized it was my calling to support the next generation of Black lawyers. For years, I mentored aspiring attorneys, helping them navigate the challenges of law school and the legal profession.
But God wasn’t finished with me yet.
In recent years, He has called me into a new season of purpose—one that extends beyond law and into faith-based empowerment and legacy building. In 2022, I married my wonderful husband, stepping into the ministry of marriage and learning what it means to build a God-centered legacy, not just professionally, but within my own family.
Now, my mission is bigger than law—it’s about Kingdom Legacy. God has called me to equip and empower people through The Anointed Attorney™—a platform that merges faith, purpose, and professional success. Through my speaking engagements, coaching, and legal work, I help individuals and families discover their God-given calling, protect their legacy, and walk boldly in their purpose.
Throughout my journey, I have faced many obstacles and setbacks—failing the bar exam, battling depression, struggling with financial burdens, and even questioning my own worth. But I never let those challenges define me. Instead, I turned them into opportunities for growth and resilience.
Today, when you work with me, you're not just receiving guidance from someone who has achieved success in her career. You're gaining a compassionate ally who understands the struggles, doubts, and setbacks you may face. I have walked a challenging path, and it is my mission to support and empower you to navigate yours with confidence and purpose.
This is more than a career—it’s a calling.
I invite you to join me on this journey of faith, purpose, and legacy building. Together, we can overcome obstacles and create a future filled with success, purpose, and joy—one that honors God and leaves a lasting impact for generations to come.
